Focus on Education Made eXp Realty the Right Fit for Arizona DMB Cathy Swann 

Relevant, timely information and training, communicated widely and offered round-the-clock, was not something Cathy Swann had heard eXp Realty provided when she joined its ranks in November 2021. It not only pleasantly surprised her, but blew her away.

“I knew the company was growing, but the high-level of broker support and training for agents is not something you hear about on the outside,” Cathy said.

She’s been an advocate of education since her days as a new agent in 1998, when Cathy was part of a husband-wife team of Realtors who showed her what being a skilled, well-educated, compassionate agent looked like. They gave her the opportunity to learn and spread her wings, but also were always there when she had questions or needed help. 

“Knowing they had my back, that I could always go to them for answers, was such a gift,” Cathy said. “Eventually, I grew to where I could pay that gift forward, and it’s been a passion of mine ever since.”

After nearly 11 years with RE/MAX and then another 12 years at a smaller, locally owned company, eXp Realty hired Cathy to serve as its designated broker for Arizona.

“We have six managing brokers, and together, we support 3,000+ agents in Arizona. Ultimately, I take the responsibility for the agents’ actions out there, so again, training becomes super important,” Cathy said.

While she spent her first few months upskilling on the flow of information and amount of activity, as well as the eXp way of doing things, she feels like she’s coming into her own.

“I’m excited to continue learning and growing in this role, and getting more interaction with the agents. I’m also looking forward to more proactive activities in addition to being reactive.”

When and why did you join eXp?

“I joined November 2021 as the incoming designated broker. I had been hearing about and watching the explosive growth around the country (and world) and wanted to know what it was all about. I was also ready for personal and professional growth and saw that opportunity here at eXp.”

What makes eXp special to you? 

“The people. Our Arizona team is knowledgeable, fun and basically just awesome to work with. eXp leadership genuinely cares about agent and employee growth. And the agents seem to have an abundance mindset. It’s a magical combination.”

Is there a significant experience you can share since you joined eXp?

“Getting the Commissioner of the Arizona Department of Real Estate to come into the eXp virtual world and present at our state meeting was pretty awesome. He even showed off some avatar dance moves!”

What is one thing about eXp that surprised you?

“The amount of education and support available to the agents.”

“The broker team is always willing to step up and help one another – answering a question, covering a rotation, helping someone through a crisis – everyone works together to provide unparalleled support to the agents.”
