Louise Potter

Louise Potter spent the first 25 years of her real estate career in internal roles, from sales associate to training director to office leadership. In 2016, she became an Ohio broker.

“It seemed like the natural thing to do, and achieving that was a long-term goal,” Louise said.

Louise remains committed to continuing to help agents grow. She is very active in her local and state associations, and instructs agents both virtually and in-person. After serving as a Designated Managing Broker in Ohio for eXp Realty, she is now moving into a new role within the company as a Regional Operations Manager, working with several states’ teams.

“Helping agents develop is how I can make a difference in the real estate world, if I do it well and in the right way,” she said.

Louise, who joined eXp Realty in July 2020, loves the opportunity for collaboration with her fellow agents and thinks the virtual setup of the company enables such partnership, instead of having one brick-and-mortar office.

“I’m able to talk online to so many people, attend town halls with hundreds and thousands of fellow employees and collaborate in a really efficient way. I was nervous about making the change from a very traditional company that I had been with for many years to one I was not as familiar with but what a great change! This company is constantly growing and changing to meet agent and employee needs. I can reach more agents with eXp than I ever could with a brick-and-mortar brokerage.”

Is there a significant experience you can share since you joined eXp?

“I think our first real life event after two years of COVID lockdown was very significant –– and emotional. To get to see people’s faces and have them all recognize us by our voices from working in the (virtual reality) world, and be excited to meet us, I felt like a rock star. It was a truly special evening.”

What is one thing about eXp that surprised you?

“How well structured and focused we are as a virtual brokerage. I love the expansion and nature of eXp and its growth. It’s an exciting place to work.” 

 What kind of collaboration have you experienced at eXp?

“I have experienced more collaboration at eXp than with any other company I have been associated with. There is collaboration at the local, state, national and international levels among agents and employees. The support is truly there for just about anything you want to accomplish.”

Best tip to share with other agents:

“For those joining eXp –– get engaged with your broker team, with the other agents and with the technology. Participate! For agents in general –– this is still a people business. 67% of our sales come from those we know. Work your sphere harder than anything else you do. Use the eXp tools to leverage those relationships and forge new ones. And listen to your brokers!”

What is your idea of perfect happiness?

A sunny, clear day on a quiet beach. Maybe on horseback! 

Who is the person you most admire?

My brother –– what a long and winding road. Still more to come! 

One thing you can’t live without?

My dog, Pete and cat, Max –– they are my boys and keep me sane. And my grandsons, Ben and Riley.

One trait that has led to your success?

When there is a will, there is a way… just never give up! 

What celebrity would play you in a movie or TV show?

Katharine Hepburn.

Little known fact about yourself?

I worked for a veterinarian at one time.
