Justin Adams joined eXp Realty in September 2019, just six months into the real estate business.

“I wanted more tools and partnerships to offer my clients, more training and education, more direction on how to scale my business, and to have an environment where I truly felt heard and guided,” Justin said.

While Justin interviewed with many brokerages, he instantly felt a strong connection to eXp Realty.

“From the moment I started my chat with the employee who would become my eventual sponsor all the way through the end, it was never about getting me to join just for the sake of joining,” Justin said. “Rather, I could genuinely sense his authenticity because he actively listened to what I truly needed to take my business to the next level and to grow, even personally. From that day forward, I knew I had to know more!”

Justin began by attending, via a guest pass, training classes in eXp World. He joined eXp that same week without hesitation. Three weeks later he was invited to EXPCON and was blown away by the education and breakout sessions.

“I didn’t feel like I was this new guy walking in, but rather felt a warmth from everyone and a willingness to share their agent experiences. All the agents I had conversations with continued to check in on me, even weeks after the conference.”

Justin added that the experience completely solidified his belief that he chose the right brokerage.

How has your production changed since joining eXp Realty?

“Since joining eXp, I have watched my business soar! With my first brokerage in the first six months I had transacted $746,500 with four transactions (January 2019-August 2019) and within my second half of 2019 (September-December) at eXp, I had sold $1.4 million with six transactions (including my first listing ever!) for a total of 10 transactions totaling $2.146 million. So just between my first six months to my second set of six months of 2019, my business increased by 88%. As of Sept. 30, 2022, I have already transacted $5 million with 15 transactions so I’m on pace to exceed my sales from last year. Extremely blessed!”

What makes eXp special to you? 

“The level of collaboration that you see from not only our family line but that extends all throughout the company is priceless. I genuinely feel I could reach out to just about anyone and there is always someone on the other end ready to help, out of the goodness of their hearts. This begins from top leadership and trickles down. It never ceases to amaze me how leaders in our company take time to listen to us, implement our feedback, and continue to push us in the most positive way!”

Is there a significant experience you can share since you joined eXp?

“Just shy of three weeks with eXp, I had my first listing appointment. I was invited into this potential client’s home because she had seen on a third-party website the number of reviews I had and the depth in which they were written. She wanted to allow me an opportunity to show her how I could bring value in selling her home. I remember being nervous, but also confident because of just coming back from EXPCON.

“Upon arriving, we sat down and discussed all the tools at my disposal thanks to eXp and how confident I was in making sure that she would receive the highest and most accurate form of ROI but also an experience that was empathetic to her. As I was heading out the door she stopped me and said, “I have never heard of eXp before but if this is the type of agent that eXp produces, count me in!

“She then went in for a hug and immediately apologized afterwards. She said, ‘I am typically not a ‘hugger’ but the sensitivity you showed and the amount of listening versus talking I just experienced, it was a subconscious reaction.’

“From that moment on, I knew that with eXp family by my side and my passion and sensitivity to every situation being different, I could actually make a bigger impact on my community than ever before! She now has been a repeat client of mine and my biggest referral client to date!”

What is one thing about eXp that surprised you?

“The level of transparency that eXp maintains consistently. I never have to worry about the ethical business practices that some companies do. I still am amazed at how openly we can share information with other colleagues and it has shown in our numbers of growth in such a short time. I am a big believer in it’s not how quickly you grow, but ‘why’ you’re growing.”

What kind of collaboration have you experienced at eXp?

“While I am an independent agent, the amazing structure of our brokerage allows me to feel like part of a team at the same time. Take Renee Funk with the Funk Collection, who is not my direct sponsor, but in my upline. She sent out a mass email that she had coordinated a professional video shoot for us to showcase our value and introduce ourselves to the community. The amount of exposure that created for all of us was incredible. She literally did this out of the goodness of her heart, and practiced what she preaches which is always about coming from a place of contribution. During our video shoot, she also shared clips of us on social media to promote even more exposure.”

Best tip to share with other agents:

“Really take a look at your brokerage and ask yourself if their core values resonate with you. We are all independent contractors at the end of the day and we do not work for a company, but if you can link yourself to a brokerage that aligns with your values, the sky’s the limit!”

What is your idea of perfect happiness?

Spending a couple of weeks in Italy to see my family and friends!

Who is the person you most admire?

My mother, who came to the U.S. when I was 10 years old. She showed me how to be independent, pursue your dreams and follow your passion.

One thing you can’t live without?

My power cord organizer bag! I have all my charges to all devices in an amazing organized pouch with labels. Nerd alert!

One trait that has led to your success?

Sensitivity. So many see this as a negative trait, however, I see it as a superpower. 

What celebrity would play you in a movie or TV show?

I would have to say Jude Law because so many say I resemble him!

Pet peeve?

Disorganization

Little known fact about yourself?

I am originally from Italy and moved here at the age of 10. Italian was my first language and to this day I speak it fluently as I visit my family once a year and speak to them on a weekly basis.

Song you never tire of?

“Stronger,” by Britney Spears. (It’s gotta be Britney being a child of the ‘90s!)

Favorite meal?

My mother’s lasagna, made from scratch! She uses Bechamel sauce instead of ricotta cheese and it is fantastic!
