eXp Realty’s Eric Gedalje, 29 years old, runs a robust, nationally top-ranked, 12-agent mega team out of Arizona’s Lake Havasu City and is on track to gross over $200 million in sales this year. Eric and his team have been dominating the residential real estate market in Lake Havasu, but Gedalje is also a real estate investor and developer, currently invested in four residential and land developments and one large-scale commercial RV/boat storage development. After attending an eXp Realty conference in Dallas, he was so moved by what he learned that he joined eXp Realty in October 2021.

“It’s the only model I’ve seen where the company chooses the agent first,” said Eric. “Every one of my team members has the opportunity to get their cap back in the form of stock as well as invest in stock at a reduced rate — incredible long-term planning options. They can even get health insurance at a discount, which is a big deal for my agents’ families. It really is an investment to their careers long term; it’s the absolute future of real estate and it is the utmost display of innovation at the highest level.”

Gedalje Refused to Move and Found Himself Living Alone at Age 16

Eric’s path to real estate was not an easy one. He was living alone at age 16 when his divorced parents broke his spirit to move again. He put his foot down, saying he wasn’t leaving Lake Havasu City and proceeded to get a job bussing tables, taking as many shifts as possible to pay his rent and the bills, living on rice cakes and peanut butter.

“That lack of contribution in my childhood is why I’m so successful,” said Eric. “I have no resentment. It’s what made me what I am today. Those years were a blur (age 16 to 19), but it built my fire and internal independence.”

Eric eventually advanced his career to restaurant manager, which allowed him to save some money.  A merchant that Eric befriended over those years enticed him to invest in a real estate spec home (“You give me $20K and I’ll get you $22K back.”) Eric trusted this man and took the risk. It worked.

“I got hooked on that investment. He’s the reason I got into real estate. I got my license and joined a team at age 22. I started hitting the phones and before I knew it, I won Rookie of The Year in the Southwest Region of the United States. That’s how it started.”

When and why did you join eXp?

“I joined October 2021. I heard about eXp when a couple of agents in my community made the switch to eXp. We were happy with our current brokerage and we weren’t looking to leave. But I was invited to an eXp event where Tony Robbins was speaking. Then I heard about the brokerage’s structure and the opportunity and I dove right in. I had multiple meetings to make sure this was the right decision for me and my team and decided it was an opportunity I couldn’t say no to. Between the different commission structures, revenue share, stock options, training and the collaboration between other agents, it was a simple business decision to make for myself and the agents on my team. With eXp, we all lead and win together.” 

What makes eXp special to you? 

“eXp is special to me because it gives my team members an opportunity to grow their business individually while still being on the team. I love that it gives my agents the opportunity to invest in stock and create multiple streams of income.” 

Is there a significant experience you can share since you joined eXp?

“There have been multiple experiences, but they all have the same theme. People like Leo Robles and their colleagues have put a lot of time into my team to discuss the opportunity and they have been so generous.”

“Never let success make you feel comfortable. Use success as momentum to take your business to the next level in all ways including leveraging that momentum to over-deliver for your clients.”
