Editor’s note: In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, we are featuring Hispanic eXp Realty agents and are sharing their stories of service, values, and commitments.
Six years ago, Rogelio Lantigua’s family was living on food stamps with a lot of credit card debt.
“We were trying to buy a house with an agent at the time, and one week before closing, the bank denied our loan. My wife and I have four kids, and we all cried.”
At that moment, Rogelio wanted to find a way to help other families not have that same experience. He quit his job, and became a real estate agent. In October 2019, he joined eXp Realty.
“Thanks to the inspiration and motivation I gained from eXp, I was finally able to pay off the mortgage on my house. And now, my family is officially debt-free.”
Rogelio Shares His Story With Clients To Give Them Hope
“I work with a community that is underserved, and we have a celebration each time we have a closing. They’re another family that was like me, and now they have their own place.”
While many workers had to pivot during the pandemic and get adjusted to working from home, Rogelio had already been working for eXp, and from home, for the previous few months.
“There was a moment of clarity when I realized that I didn’t need a big office or a billboard to generate more business,” he said. “I can work from home, using the tools that eXp offers to connect with my clients.”
In addition to giving hope to his clients, Rogelio also shares his story of success with other agents, through the eXp University class he teaches.
“I show them how to start over with nothing, and that success can be found – it can be done.”
