Marti Hampton is one of those giants in the real estate industry with more than 30 years of service under her belt. In 2019, she and her 15-agent team in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area of North Carolina closed $135 million in sales on 428 transactions as the owner of a RE/MAX franchise. For five straight years, she was the top resale agent in the Triangle area.  

But like many top real estate brokers, Hampton felt that for all the hard work she was doing, she wasn’t getting the maximum benefit for the amount she was bringing to the table for RE/MAX. Then she learned about eXp Realty and knew it offered the opportunity for her team to grow,  learn, and earn much more than just a yearly income.

Hampton said she joined eXp Realty for many reasons, but one is for her agents to gain more opportunities.

“I did not have to give up my name. I did not have to buy another franchise. There is a cap on what the company can earn from me and instead, the company gives back much more than it takes from its agents! 

“They give me stock and revenue-sharing instead of trophies, giving both my team and me an opportunity to build a future and invest year after year. The ability to care for our families with healthcare options and retirement opportunities was huge,” said Hampton, who is approaching her one-year anniversary with eXp in February.

Hampton has been doing real estate since 1985, choosing the profession after the need to raise her three children as a single mother. This career was a natural fit and she became hugely successful, eventually owning her own franchise for nearly 20 years. But instead of “renting a name on a sign,” Hampton wanted something so much more. The ability to team up with local top agents in the Raleigh area was enough to seal the deal. 

“I still sell real estate,” said Hampton, “but I’m partnering with some of the best in the Triangle — Sharon Evans, Renee Hillman, Thomas Wall, April Stephens, and Tina Caul.”
