Natasha Valasek

When it came to a career in real estate, Houston’s Natasha Valasek has always known the sky’s the limit. In fact, she worked with people from NASA who have literally been to outer space. This experience helped Natasha really understand how far she could go. 

Before becoming an agent in 2006, Natasha worked in property management at a Houston luxury apartment community right across from NASA. 

The doors to Natasha Valasek’s real estate success have swung wide open.

“Astronauts, cosmonauts – people from all over the world would live there. It was a beautiful property on the water with infinity pools, putting greens and great restaurants all around. I worked with many apartment locators. One in particular said: ‘You should be on this side of the industry (real estate).’ So, I got my real estate license with the intent to only do apartment locating, then I decided I would sell houses, too,’’ she said.

Her initial clients came from NASA, along with oil companies and other transnational groups. They were referrals of clients who wanted to go from renting to buying – a tall order given the luxury category she was working in.

“Someone from London who worked for Shell Oil wanted to buy. It was a three-month closing. We were going to have them close in London in the U.S. Embassy, but the whole place shut down for a week for the Prince William and Kate Middleton wedding. It delayed things but my knowledge really built on that experience. I appreciated the standards in place. They are paying high dollars and have big jobs. I had to deliver at a high level to my clients,’’ she said. 

Valasek had joined a boutique real estate brokerage where more learning took place. By 2014, Valasek said she knew digital advertising and technology were the future of real estate, so she opened her own office, eNVy Real Estate Professionals. Business boomed, she brought in more agents and developed a great reputation as a luxury broker, joining Keller Williams in 2018. 

But she hit a ceiling.

“When I am sharing and pouring into people, I want them to do better than me. I was a top luxury agent while also being broker of record in two offices with 500+ agents. I was recruiting, teaching and consulting with agents, but I felt I had a ceiling put on me,’’ she said.

For a woman whose first taste of real estate was through helping astronauts and luxury clients, ceilings are not an option. Natasha took a cue from eXp Realty agent Veronica Figueroa and saw how dynamic eXp was as a company and platform.

“I wanted to be with the best of the best! I am a part of the global alliance and Honey Badger networks and really plug in with them weekly. It has been a key role in growing with eXp,’’ she said, joining eXp in June 2022.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?

Having peace and clarity. 

Who is the person you most admire?

No longer with us, my Nana. She was such a strong woman in all she did and anytime her name was mentioned people would naturally smile. That is leaving a legacy. 

One trait that has led to your success?

Having someone tell me no. It motivates me.

What celebrity would play you in a movie or TV show?

Jessica Alba, we share a hometown. 

Pet peeve?

People chewing with their mouths open. 

Little known fact about yourself?

I have met a former president and many different celebrities and professional athletes so I don’t get star struck at all.
