Franklin D. Roosevelt famously said, “We can not always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future.” That attitude resonates at eXp Realty, which proudly champions its younger colleagues who are part of the ONE eXp diversity and inclusion group, the eXp Young Professionals.

YP, as it is affectionately called, was founded by Sonni Nye, who is also a New York state leader, and Eden Jeffery, an eXp Realty agent in Atlanta and a Georgia state leader. Together, they have established the groundwork for the organization, which now boasts 46 state leaders in 19 states and over 4,000 members across all social media platforms.

What Does It Take to Be an eXp Young Professional?

Obviously, the name of the group “Young Professionals” begs the question: “Is there an age requirement?” 

Sonni says, “The National Association of Realtors (NAR) defines a young professional as anyone under the age of 40. But here at eXp we do not discriminate. So whether you are young in age, young in the business or just young at heart, you have a place in our group!”

At eXp Realty, where collaboration among all agents is a natural occurrence, eXp’s Young Professionals stand as a testament to the power of a united vision. eXp Realty’s Young Professionals have a powerful goal: to become the largest and most productive group of young real estate agents in the world. It’s a lofty goal, but with the backing of eXp’s innovative virtual environment, eXp’s Young Professionals are transcending borders and age barriers.

YP Connecticut state leader Deja Spearman said, “It’s truly a blessing to have a community of authentic, like-minded people come together and build together and dominate this industry as young professionals. You will not find that anywhere else.”

Leadership: A Fusion of Passion and Commitment

Central to the group’s success are its state leaders – eXp Realty agents who embody the passion and values of the Young Professionals. To assume this leadership role, a commitment to the Young Professionals’ mission requires active participation within the community – either virtually or in real life.

Florida state leader Larry Lanni said, “One reason why I love eXp Young Professionals is because it’s actually one of eXp’s core principles — collaboration. The people I’ve met, and the think-tanking that is going on are unreal. Get involved!”

Nurturing Scalable Growth Through Committees

To facilitate and scale growth, the group has established six active local and national committees, which tackle project areas such as marketing, education, events, and more. These committees help to channel efforts, but also provide members with avenues to contribute and collaborate based on their strengths and interests.

eXp Realty’s Young Professionals believe in continuous learning and networking. Ambassadors are actively encouraged to participate in events beyond their local state, attending training sessions, weekly masterminds, and monthly mixers. The goal is to not just amplify individual growth but also to solidify the bonds that make the community thrive.
