Although she could have initially joined her father’s successful real estate agency in coastal Mississippi, Genny Williams first opted for a career in marketing, followed by a stint in the casino industry.
“I remember my father working day and night for years,” Williams said, “and that didn’t appeal to me at the time, but everyone in my town knew Charlie Green, my dad, was the go-to real estate agent.”
By 1997, though, Williams answered the real estate call and joined the family realty business in Pascagoula, Mississippi.
Four years later, seeking more income and opportunity than her native city could offer, Williams moved her family to Birmingham, Alabama. She eventually became a managing broker and team leader at Keller Williams, where her love for agent attraction and development flourished. Then, Robert Scott, the RE/MAX Advantage owner, customized a position that allowed her to use all of her skills to help grow his company. That’s when her coaching, marketing and training company called Get a Real Estate Life was launched.
By her 10th year as CEO of Get a Real Estate Life in 2018, the news of eXp Realty and its incentives for attracting and training agents stopped Williams cold in her tracks.
“I was invited by a client’s friend to speak at (eXp Realty’s class) Real Estate 101 one Sunday night, and over 300 agents in the eXp World auditorium were absolutely engaged, asking questions and genuinely showing interest in taking the advice and putting it into practice,” Williams said. “It blew me away. I joined eXp the next day.”
Williams Is a Top Instructor for eXp University
Now, Williams – who has earned the ICON Agent award each year she has been with eXp Realty – is a highly rated instructor with eXp University and supports a growing organization of more than 255 agents.
During her first year with eXp Realty, she helped some of her favorite friends transition to the company; including Mega ICON agent, Gusty Gulas and his brokerage.
“Gusty and I are building the most supportive network with incredible value to our hard-working agents,” Williams said. “We may be really busy in the field, but we strive to provide extensive education, opportunities, coaching and even accountability programs. I feel like I’m living a dream with the best agents I know and my incredible husband who is the biggest eXp fan.”
And though she does work day and night like her dad used to, she credits eXp Realty with rewarding her in a way no other company can to pursue her passion of developing successful agents.
“There’s simply no other brokerage that offers what eXp Realty offers: my pretty sizable revenue share and the stock incentives from sales are life-changing,” she said. “Whether you’re a top producer, or you’re passionate about agent development, or both in my case, eXp Realty is the no-brainer brokerage. The business model seriously rewards you for helping the people you love discover eXp and thrive. Nothing makes my heart happier.”
Williams a Candidate for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Woman of Year
In addition to providing knowledge and accountability to agents in her group and beyond, Williams is also giving back to her community.
She is a candidate for 2021 Woman of the Year for the Alabama chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, nearly halfway to her goal of raising $57,000 to fund blood cancer research and development for treatments and therapies.
“The reason it matters to me is because my grandfather passed away from leukemia,” Williams said. “I also have several seller clients with it, and I want to do everything I can to help support them – the research and the treatments that are really helping people.”
Williams has coordinated campaign benefits, including restaurant partnerships and a chance to win a Louis Vuitton Petite Noé bucket bag. For more information, visit Genny’s fundraising page or follow Genny on Facebook. The campaign runs through June 15, 2021.

When and why did you join eXp?
“I joined in December 2018 after coaching hundreds of agents and doing their marketing. I hadn’t sold a house in 10 years because I was focused on helping other agents. When I learned the real end ins and outs of the eXp business model, I decided to close my one-on-one coaching and marketing company called Get a Real Estate Life, join eXp as an instructor and jump back into sales.”
What makes eXp special to you?
“There’s a huge list, but the thoughtful and innovative leadership of the company makes all the other benefits sweeter.”
Is there a significant experience you can share since you joined eXp?
