During the second general session at EXPCON 2023 in Las Vegas, top-producing eXp Realty teams were recognized for their incredible success in 2022, including awards given for most sides, GCI and volume in the U.S., Canada and internationally. Additionally, special awards were also presented for ICON of the Year, Woman of Influence, Mentor of Year, Rookies of Year, the Jeffrey Buettner Philanthropy Award and Humanitarian of the Year.

Notable is Avery Carl’s The Short Term Shop which swept all team awards in the U.S., including volume, GCI and sales volume. The Short Term Shop closed $1,066,734,495 in sales volume on 1,493 transactions in 2022. Avery is a seven-time ICON agent and Team Leader of The Short Term Shop, which is an eXp Realty mega team operating in 15 markets.
In Canada, Ibrahim Hussein’s Affinity Real Estate Group took two of the top honors: volume and GCI.
Internationally, Portugal’s Consultan team and Puerto Rico’s One Sixteen Group placed in the top three in each category of units, volume and CGI. Eliezer Torres, an ICON agent, leads One Sixteen, whose team completed 2022 with $8,746,000.00 (USD) in volume. Arnaldo Grossman leads the Consultan team, which finished 2022 with €21,946,076.00 in volume ($23,860,871.13 USD).

Rookies of the Year – For this category, eXp named four rookies, given to the highest GCI-producing newcomer who joined eXp Realty in 2022. Washington state’s Chandra Kaladhar Reddy Vennapusa is Rookie of the Year for eXp Realty. The international rookie is Monica Rodriguez Garcia of Puerto Rico; Jake Nicolle of Ancaster, Ontario, takes top honors in Canada and Sarah Cooley, who is licensed in North and South Carolina, is the Rookie of the Year for eXp Commercial.
Mentor of the Year – Washington state’s Brett Bonner, who covers areas north of Seattle such as Arlington, Lake Stevens, Marysville, Monroe, Mount Vernon, Snohomish and Stanwood, was named Mentor of the Year. Brett is very engaged with the Mentor program and is very familiar with eXp policies and the state laws. He is very active with his mentees, involved with their transactions, and is passionate about helping them achieve their goals.
ICON of Year – Michael Weisman, Founder and Team Leader of the Real Property Team at eXp Realty in Portland, Maine, was named ICON of the Year. He and his team cover most of the state with a growing team of 10 licensed agents and three administrative assistants. Michael has been with eXp Realty since October of 2020. He is a three-time ICON agent, Certified SUCCESS Coach and Certified Mentor.
Jeffrey Buettner Philanthropist Award – Luna Mariah Dietz is an eXp Realty agent in Oregon, serving the Salem and Willamette Valley areas. She is the recipient of the Jeffrey Buettner Philanthropist award, given in honor of Jeffrey Buettner, who served as an eXp Realty agent and corporate staff member before passing in 2022 at the age of 32. Luna has strong communication skills and an unwavering commitment to making everyone’s real estate journeys exciting, joyful, stress-free, and a life-long memory.
Humanitarian of the Year – Jon Pugh is an eXp Realty agent along California’s finest coastal properties, including Newport Beach and Laguna Beach. He also has numerous record sales, including the most expensive sale in Orange County history. In addition to advising on traditional purchases and sales, Jon also assists clients through personal hardships as a Certified Distressed Property Expert. Having participated in more than $275,000,000 in closed transactions, Jon has helped others overcome many unique real estate challenges and obstacles.
Woman of Influence – Veronica Figueroa is a top-producing Alpha agent at eXp Realty who is known for her vivacious personality and passion for real estate. She is the CEO and Team Lead of The Figueroa Team in Orlando and is also a recognized national speaker. Veronica was chosen because she has demonstrated professional excellence and leadership. She is influential within eXp, has a solid reputation based on her experience, integrity and leadership, and has a track record of accomplishments. Among her long list of accolades are NAHREP Top 100 Nationwide, Orlando Real Producers Female Broker of the Year, Zillow Advisory Board Member, Inman Innovator, Inman Connect Influencer, among many others.
Outstanding Leadership — Elizabeth Riley, an 8-time ICON Agent, was the recipient of this first-time award, presented during the ICON Agent breakfast. Elizabeth is a long-time eXp Realty agent, joining in April, 2015. Her influence, dedication and support for all agents within eXp, as well as the respect and admiration she has earned from eXp leadership has led her to receive this inaugural award.
