eXp Realty CEO Jason Gesing lands at No. 31 after ranking No. 43 in 2021

Glenn Sanford founded eXp Realty in 2009 and now, a mere 13 years later, he is regarded as the second-most powerful person in the entire residential real estate industry. (Read press release here.)

The highly regarded 2022 Swanepoel Power 200 list was recently released and Sanford was named No. 2 on the list – jumping from a ranking of No. 5 last year. The Swanepoel Power 200, known as the SP200, ranks the top 200 most powerful and influential executives in the residential real estate industry.

“On behalf of Jason and myself, we are appreciative to be recognized in the Swanepoel Power 200 list, which is considered to be one of real estate’s most respected awards,” said Sanford. “However, this award really is a statement about our agents who champion the eXp model and help drive our record results and phenomenal growth each and every day.”

Sanford is the CEO and Chairman of eXp World Holdings (Nasdaq: EXPI), the holding company for eXp Realty®, Virbela and SUCCESS® Enterprises. He is one of the few executives on the SP200 who has climbed steadily in the past nine years, debuting on the SP200 in 2014 at No. 190 and by 2018 he was ranked No. 32. In 2020 he was No. 15 and in 2021, Sanford broke into the top 5.

The 2022 Swanepoel Power 200 list ranks the top 200 most powerful and influential executives in the residential real estate industry. It is named after Stefan Swanepoel, chairman and CEO of T3 Sixty, a consulting firm that created the list of real estate’s 200 most powerful and influential leaders for the past nine years. Those who are honored are chosen based on a variety of criteria, including achievements and successes of leaders and executives over the past year, the size of the company they lead, personal leadership and influence within the industry and outside their own company, their track record and the resources they have at their disposal or in their control.

“eXp exploded in 2020 and 2021. In February 2021, the company’s market cap exceeded $11 billion and generally enjoys a market cap higher than real estate company titans Realogy, Redfin, RE/MAX and Compass,” said Swanepoel. “Very few have experienced the kind of growth that eXp Realty, the cloud-based brokerage company Sanford founded in 2009 has enjoyed over the past five years.”

eXp Realty CEO Jason Gesing also made the list, advancing to No. 31 after ranking No. 43 in 2021 and No. 170 in 2020.
