‘eXp Rebuilds Together’ Is the Theme for eXp’s Second Annual I Heart eXp Community Day Scheduled Oct. 6

For the second straight year, eXp Realty will dedicate one day for agents and staff to give back to their local communities through the I Heart eXp Community Day, scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2020. The date marks the 11th anniversary of the start of eXp Realty.

This year’s theme is “eXp Rebuilds Together,” which supports many interpretations for how anyone chooses to give back – especially during the COVID-19 crisis, which could limit in-person events. Last year’s theme was “Help Homeless Youth.”

Micah Mruwat, an eXp Broker Associate in Oklahoma and the brainchild of eXp’s Community Day, said last year’s kickoff Community Day was truly gratifying. 

“It was exciting to see agents give back to the community and give back in events,” said Mruwat. “The camaraderie among agents was terrific, but what was especially fun was to see that agents continued to volunteer well after the day of giving.”

Some of 2019’s volunteer events included:

  • Making meals at a homeless shelter
  • Stocking a food pantry
  • Packing backpacks for a youth shelter
  • Participating in a “Sleep Out”
  • Holding a gift card drive
  • Offering handyman services
  • Collecting and donating clothes and shoes
  • Attending a seminar on mental health
  • Volunteering at an animal shelter

Mruwat came up with the idea for Community Day to help show the emotion and camaraderie that exists in the company. 

“I knew we had heart and soul, but how do you show it? I thought, ‘Let’s do an agent-led initiative that gives back to the community!’ That’s where the idea came from.”

The Community Day committee is currently coordinating with leaders in the U.S., Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom who will then work with local brokers and agents on setting up volunteer programs for anyone to join.
