This year’s eXp Shareholder Summit was quite a feat as eXp World Holdings took its annual in-person event and moved it entirely online. Incredibly, it was just as rousing and energizing as a live event with thousands of agents, shareholders and guests around the globe gathering virtually to attend the summit last week in eXp World.
eXp’s annual Shareholder Summit, which is usually held in person at a warm-weather site such as Florida or Las Vegas, was rescheduled and reformatted to be held virtually to support the health and well-being of our agents and guests.
The four-day event held May 12-15 encompassed a packed general session on Tuesday, an expo on Wednesday and three days of breakout sessions Wednesday through Friday. The entire four-day affair had the same level of vibrancy and intensity as an in-person event, with avatars mingling throughout the event, building relationships, and learning from each other.
Tuesday’s general session, with rousing talks from company leadership, was viewed by more than 9,500 attendees around the globe. Attendance far exceeded last year’s Shareholder Summit which drew 1,700 agents and staff in person — nearly a 6X difference. eXp World, which is part of eXp’s world-class tools and technology platform, was the main venue, but many events were livestreamed or recorded/uploaded to eXp’s YouTube channel.
There were 75 breakout sessions presented in town hall, mastermind, panel, and instructional formats and were widely attended and highly rated by eXp agents, receiving an NPS (Net Promoter Score) average of 4.8 out of 5. The virtual format allowed agents from around the world to easily attend the entire event, or specific breakouts to focus on key areas of their business.
“eXp has been fully virtual since our inception in 2009, so we were uniquely positioned to quickly pivot to a massive virtual event,” said eXp World Holdings Founder and CEO Glenn Sanford.

Agents visited eXp World more than 15,000 times over the three days of breakout sessions. Taught by top agents and industry influencers, the breakout sessions empowered eXp agents with tools and best practices for growing their businesses. eXp also created a virtual eXpo Hall, which was visited by more than 3,000 people, complete with booths and bustling with networking!
“eXp has been fully virtual since our inception in 2009, so we were uniquely positioned to quickly pivot to a massive virtual event,” said eXp World Holdings Founder and CEO Glenn Sanford. “It is pretty special when you can do an event even better in the virtual world with thousands of our eXp family and friends, share great content and have meaningful, serendipitous collisions throughout the convention center. It was an epic week and I am super stoked to say that eXp is prepared for anything.”

eXp agent Elizabeth Riley of Austin, Texas summed it up well.
“I completely engaged at our event where I led a panel discussion in front of hundreds of people from all over the country, represented the agent advisory council and attended a mastermind with the top 2% of real estate agents in the entire country where we share, collaborate and build each other up every step of the way. But, most importantly, I immersed myself in our culture with conversations and selfies even though we couldn’t see our colleagues in person.”
