Michael and Andrea Haritos are two very busy people. Not only are they active agents in the Smyrna, Delaware, region but Michael is also the state’s managing broker for eXp Realty. Additionally, the two are in the process of turning their Huck and Buck Farm into a sanctuary for healing.

Andrea knows first-hand the importance of healing after her son, Cecil Bond, was shot and killed in 2013 at 19 years old.

“I always wanted to create a place for adults and children to be able to come and enjoy some peace — a place of healing,” said Andrea, who practiced nursing prior to turning to real estate. “There are so many individuals struggling with their past and present hurt, that our farm can be a place to heal, reflect and have refuge.”

Andrea admits she and Michael are past their prime of setting the world on fire in real estate, which is why eXp’s model is so attractive in terms of helping to grow the company and being rewarded through revenue share and stock.

In the meantime, Andrea is super busy developing plans for their farm sanctuary — Huck and Buck Farm LLC — where they have plans for unique dwellings (treehouses, tiny and container homes) and will hold weddings and events and be a place of refuge for guests amid beautiful gardens, ponds, and assorted animals (chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys and soon, goats and pigs). Michael is busy making sheds for the farm animals (they have five so far) and Andrea makes and sells ice cream, gathers eggs from the chickens, handles constant chores in between selling real estate and tends to their two precious daughters, Taylor, who currently resides in Atlanta and Sarah, who is a sophomore in college.

When and why did you join eXp?

“We have known about eXp,” said Andrea. “But when it first came out, we were stuck in our ways and business. We could all kick ourselves now. When we were approached by eXp ICON agent Katina Geralis that there was a managing broker position for the state of Delaware, I thought Michael would be an excellent candidate. So after a long five-hour car ride home, I convinced Michael to take this opportunity to be able to try something new.”

What makes eXp special to you?

“eXp is special to me because it allows me to position myself for additional income opportunities as a veteran agent,” said Andrea. “Eventually, through revenue share income, eXp will allow us to plan and execute our exit out of everyday real estate into part-time real estate and full-time farming/hospitality (camping and tiny homes for rent on our property).

Is there a significant experience you can share since you joined eXp?

“We have made more in revenue share income through eXp in the past 6 months than we did in two years of profit share at our previous brokerage.”

What is one thing about eXp that surprised you?

“The one thing that has surprised me as a new eXp agent is the level of guidance that the company offers. It’s easier to get things answered at eXp.”

What kind of collaboration have you experienced at eXp?

“The interaction from eXp staff in changing brokerages has been awesome, always someone available to help and answer questions.”
