David Brooke built a highly successful team with a major brokerage in Hartford County, Connecticut. His leadership and a challenging and rewarding training program attracted other agents year after year, helping drive the Brooke Group to exceed an impressive 300 units annually.

David Brooke’s team completed $72 million in sales in 2019.

But Brooke said the lack of upward mobility and structure at his former brokerage led him to discover eXp Realty, calling it the future of real estate.

“We believe in long-term growth for agents with a company that puts an emphasis on equity,” said Brooke. “We believe that a successful brokerage is a tripartite effort of the agent, the team and the brokerage. Brooke moved his 20-agent team to eXp in March 2020 and couldn’t be happier with eXp’s revenue sharing and stock awards, plus innovative tools at agents’ disposal. 

“I believe that many realty companies are an innovation of some sort of original model of brokering, but eXp is the invention,” said Brooke. “It’s an original and innovative model that takes into account equity, sustainability and solvency that most brokerages struggle with on a larger scale.”

Brooke was a real estate appraiser for 11 years prior to becoming an agent, starting with Engel & Völkers in 2011, then joining Berkshire Hathaway in 2013, then Keller Williams in 2015 before joining eXp in 2020. 

“I decided to go full-time as a real estate agent when I realized that the ladder to success went much higher through leverage and opportunity in sales than in the appraisal industry.”

Last year, the Brooke Group did $72 million in sales on 341 transactions. His team handles just about every type of real estate possible, including residential, commercial, industrial, multi-family, condos, land, and farms.

“It’s not that we are divided in focus, our focus IS real estate, and we strive to be knowledgeable about many facets of it,” said Brooke.

Brooke: eXp Brings Value and a Sense of Belonging

Brooke says that with eXp, there’s less of a need to create a false sense of belonging that he has seen in so many other companies. 

“Companies tend to use the word ‘family’ when referring to coworkers and executives,” said Brooke. “This is traditionally done in order to foster a sense of belonging and one would hope that it is in fact genuine. However, belonging is shown, not just spoken. eXp brings value and those who align with them see it and do not need to be continually convinced.”
