Editor’s note: In celebration of Black History Month, we are featuring eXp Realty agents who are sharing their stories of service, values and commitments.
After a 10-year hiatus from real estate, Angela Pannell came back to her beloved career with a vengeance. That was in 2019, the year she bought her own home in the metro Atlanta area – a process that reignited her passion for real estate.
But this time, Angela knew exactly the kind of environment she needed to maximize her ability to help clients buy and sell their properties: A team!
“The first time I was an agent, I was a solo agent. I promised myself, this time, I would be on a team. So my church member and team leader, David Walker (who had been hounding me for nearly 10 years) asked me to join his team, The Holland Walker Team and I obliged!’’ Angela said.
Four years later, Angela calls it the “best decision ever!”
“I have the support of a small team yet a part of a network of other eXp agents locally and nationally. I now have the best of both worlds! eXp has exceeded my expectations as a “new” agent. I’ve learned so much yet I’ve met so many other agents who aren’t stingy with their information or resources. They ALL want to share. I believe this is the magic that sets eXp apart! Agents helping agents! It’s the best! That’s why I love it here!”
‘Agent-to-Agent’ Connection Makes It Feel Like Family
Like the [agent_count_global-18] other agents who make eXp the biggest brokerage in the world, Angela has found the tools and technology at eXp sets it apart from all other firms. Angela said she is getting everything now she knew she was missing in her early years at other brokerages.
“The support, virtual or in-person training, lead sources, networking opportunities, easy-to-use marketing material, the ease of referrals either with clients or agents, it’s amazing. And also the agent-to-agent connection. Whenever I see an eXp agent out in public, it’s like we’re cousins! We speak, hug, and pretty much act like we already know each other. We are like family, for real,’’ she said.
With a network of agents in a virtual world, Angela has had her business cross all kinds of borders in a way that makes real the promise of infinite collaboration with other agents.
“The latest collaboration was a transaction in Alabama. I placed the post needing an agent and the agent contacted me. I drove to Alabama to make the referral in person. The connection was so well received. They took great care of my clients and the home is looking to close next week. The agent was communicative with me through all the phases,’’ she said.
While it is clear that community and helping others buy and sell real estate is Angela’s primary motivation, it doesn’t hurt that at eXp, the referral and revenue-sharing opportunities present a lot of financial upside.
“The one thing that surprised me by being with eXp is the multiple ways to earn money! Also, the ability to send and receive referrals from other agents! And if I need to have a home shown, I can post it on the workplace and within minutes another agent can stand in for me! It’s all priceless!” she said.
