Jose Esparza knew he wanted to get into real estate. But when he went to apply to be an agent, things took an unexpected turn.
“Well, you’re in the wrong place,” Esparza recalls being told. “This is not a real estate company, this is a mortgage company.”
Willing to try something new, Esparza took the job as a mortgage loan officer. However, it wasn’t long before Esparza’s large network of contacts in Northwest Arkansas started calling him asking for real estate advice.
After referring business to other Realtor friends for two years, Esparza decided it was time to focus his energy on generating leads for his own original passion. Esparza began practicing real estate in 2006.
Esparza Saw eXp as the Next Big Thing in Real Estate
Flash forward to 2020. eXp agent Leo Robles contacted Esparza to congratulate him on making the NAHREP top 250 and introduced him to eXp Realty. When Esparza learned about eXp’s capabilities, he thought its advanced technology, tools, and community would make it the next big thing in real estate.
“Not only that, but the energy that I have seen with the eXp family is amazing. Everyone feeds from each other success,” said Esparza.
Robles became Esparza’s sponsor and has since shared valuable advice on making a difference in agents’ businesses.
To Esparza, Mentorship Is Key
“I started my team six years ago and found a passion in recruiting new and experienced agents by helping them start and grow their business in real estate,” Esparza said. “I found out that many agents just simply need the right mentor and tools to grow. I want to continue helping many agents succeed in real estate. I know that eXp will help me with that goal.”
Providing resources and guidance to other agents gives Esparza the highest sense of satisfaction.
“To be a good mentor is having the experience, number one, being a good team leader, and basically just going in and wanting to help out — giving back to the agents,” Esparza said. “If you are there to help them, and you want to watch them grow and succeed, that is going to go a long way.”
