With $56.8 million in volume on 121 units in 2024, the Colosimos had reached the ceiling of what was possible within their traditional franchise model. While expansion was on the horizon, the red tape was daunting: new offices, brokerage licenses, and costly franchise agreements in each state.

“We wanted to be in rooms where people are playing bigger,” says Ellie. “And eXp has those rooms.”
Building a Legacy
The Colosimos aren’t just selling homes – they’re building something far more lasting: a legacy of financial freedom and opportunity. For Dominic, the journey started unexpectedly. After a decade in corporate America managing retail stores across multiple states, he realized his real estate investments outperformed his paycheck. He jumped into real estate full-time and never looked back, closing 28 transactions in his first year alone.
Ellie, a Madison native, took a different path, motivated by her entrepreneurial spirit and inspired by her father’s example. Even when diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2018, she didn’t slow down. That year also marked the beginning of her relationship with Dominic. “He was just a friend then,” she laughs. “But he showed up, even to chemo. My dad said, ‘That guy really likes you.’ And he was right.”
Together, they built a life – and a business – centered around resilience, purpose, and growth.

At eXp, the Colosimos are scaling their mission to empower others.
“There are about 300 area codes in the U.S.,” says Dominic. “We want to be in as many of them as possible – and not just to expand, but to mentor, coach, and show other agents how to grow in smart, sustainable ways.”
They plan to open-source their systems, operations, and strategies to anyone ready to grow. “We’re not building an empire – we’re building a blueprint others can follow,” Ellie adds.
