Many entrepreneurs and real estate investors consider Robert Kiyosaki’s book, “Rich Dad Poor Dad” to be the Holy Grail for how to achieve financial independence. The message stuck with Huy Nguyen, who is an eXp Realty agent in Houston.
Huy was 18 years old when he read the book and was determined to find a real estate company with the ‘Rich Dad’ philosophy, which essentially inspires those to seek multiple streams of income and to gain financial freedom through real estate investing and passive income.
He found it with eXp Realty. “I was blown away by the “model” that they showed me back then,” said Huy, who joined in November 2017.
Huy specifically cites eXp’s revenue share and stock awards platform as one of many reasons eXp was so attractive.
“The ability to build generational wealth makes eXp exceptional compared to other brokerages,” said Huy. “I challenge everyone to find something even remotely close to what eXp offers.”
Huy joined eXp in November 2017 and quickly found his footing in 2019 when he made ICON Agent status, selling $10 million in volume on 57 transactions. He says he is just three deals away from becoming an ICON in 2020.
Huy Worked in IT Before Fully Jumping Into Real Estate
The ‘Rich Dad’ book’s message was always powerful to Huy and stayed with him through his college years as a computer science major and later, while working in IT for an oil and gas company in Houston. Huy did real estate part-time for five years with a small boutique brokerage. At age 22, he bought his first house and then started to invest in rental properties.
“I always wanted to start my own real estate business,” said Huy of his desire to become an independent broker. “But I didn’t want to quit a job to have another job. This is the mistake that most people make. They quit their full-time, high-paying W-2 job with one boss just to do another full-time, high-paying sales job with many bosses and no way to get out of it.”
With eXp, Huy is able to leverage many more income streams to fulfill the ‘Rich Dad” philosophy. Currently, he sells anything from distressed properties to million-dollar homes. But his main focus is on investment homes and serving his family, friends and investors in Houston.
“When my clients buy, they make money,” said Huy of his ability to identify properties that hold or increase their value over time.

Kiefer Sutherland (in the “24” TV series). His ability to lead by example and decision-making process is simply amazing.

Sometimes I stay up late and play video games.
