With more than $78 million in sales in 2023 along Florida’s busy Atlantic Coast, Andy Mandel had a serious “aha” moment. It was time to take the best of what he had and exchange it for the brightest future.
“I purchased two RE/MAX franchises in 2021 from my parents who owned them for years. When the franchise agreements were coming up for renewal, I had to make a decision. Did I want to renew and focus on ‘being the broker’ or focus on growing my team?’’ Andy said.
“My team was over 60% of the production of the office, and I didn’t feel like I had anyone in the RE/MAX network already producing at the level I wanted to be at helping me succeed,’’ Andy said.
It was a significant realization that Andy’s skills and vision exceeded the confines of the brokerage, which is why he joined eXp Realty on Feb. 21, 2024.

“In my opinion, today’s buyers and sellers don’t necessarily care which brand you work for. In fact, I think today’s buyers and sellers prefer an agent who has developed their own strong personal brand. The eXp platform allows me to be cutting-edge and grow my personal brand and business the way I see fit without having to rely on antiquated technology, branding, or marketing,’’ he said.
“I liked the fact that I was aligning myself with agents with a growth and abundance mindset who weren’t complacent in their business. Too many agents are stuck in the ‘I’ve always done it this way’ mindset and aren’t open to evolving with the times,’’ he said.
Mandel Team Moves 16 Agents to eXp
Based in Coral Springs, Florida, The Mandel Team has 16 agents plus support staff. They service all communities from Palm Beach County down to Broward, where hotbed real estate areas like Fort Lauderdale keep the wheels churning.
Andy was introduced to eXp by his sponsor, Damon Penn, another South Florida top-producer who moved to eXp in June 2022.
“The fee structure and no cap at RE/MAX, even for a broker-owner, and especially for teams, made it difficult to recruit and grow at the rate I knew we were capable of growing. How long were you considering the move to eXp?

As long as you can follow a checklist, it’s easy!”
