California’s Brent Gove had no intention of ever leaving Keller Williams where he was a powerhouse agent and Team Leader overseeing his multi-million-dollar sales team. But one thing compelled him to move to eXp Realty: Seeing a path to retirement.
“At all real estate companies, you help buyers buy and sellers sell, but at eXp you acquire stock for your retirement. There’s an actual exit strategy that no other companies have,” said Gove.
“There is no chance to retire at other brokerages. You create your own prison there where you need to sell, sell, sell. It’s a loop you can’t get out of.”
Not only did the potential of stock awards motivate him to switch to eXp, but he was equally excited by eXp’s generous revenue share and low-cap commission model.
“I was No. 5 in my office in profit share at my previous company. Now I’m making 500 times that amount (via eXp’s revenue share model),” said Gove.
Gove first heard of eXp in 2016 from Sheila Fejeran, a colleague. She was contemplating moving to eXp and trusted Gove’s business acumen. She asked him to evaluate eXp’s business model. He was immediately impressed.
“After watching the video (about eXp), I was blown away and was in shock. Never seen anything like it. I was so moved, that I moved my $100M sales team to eXp.
What I saw in the eXp model was so compelling and so radically different that I just had to make the move.”

By switching to eXp, Gove has tapped into a talent that takes him all over the country via the speaking circuit, which allows him to share the eXp model with other curious agents.
“I’m not a coach, teacher or trainer,” said Gove. “I’m an inspirator. I believe in motivation and inspiration. I’m more of a warrior. I have ideas and like to inspire others like, ‘Let’s take this hill.”’
Gove has amassed 19,000 agents in his revenue share income stream group and is a major force in the growth of the company that founder Glenn Sanford created in 2009. And when does Gove estimate he will retire?
“Retire? Hell no! Why retire when you love what you’re doing?” he said.
