He has personally presented to some of the world’s elite from across all sectors: Oprah, Usher, dozens of Olympians and Fortune 500 CEOs. He has been endorsed by the Dalai Lama and Tony Robbins. Larry King named him the world’s top motivational trainer. Brendon Burchard, a high-performance coach, three-time New York Times bestselling author, and one of the most-watched, quoted and followed motivational speakers in history, delivered a much-anticipated and inspirational keynote address to a captivated audience of the world’s finest eXp Realty agents at EXPCON 2023.
Raise Your Ambition
“What is it that makes someone high-performing,” Burchard asked the cheering audience. “Today I am going to give you their mental playbook.” The highest-performing people practice high-performing habits on a daily basis, he explained. He then outlined his rules for success, grounded in raising your ambition.
“The number one hallmark of successful people is they are ambitious,” he said. “You can’t let your vision of the future be limited by the present or past. You need to assert yourself and own your dream.”
With personal examples from his own experience, including a horrific car accident that changed his perspective and life, he discussed how he found his purpose.
“Every day I ask, did I really live today? High-performers are happy to be here, alive,” he said. “After my accident, I started to study and learn and that’s how I transformed my life.”
Find Something to Fight For
“Every day ask yourself, who needs me on my A game today? Why is it necessary that I show up and serve with excellence today?” he said.
That’s the thought that drove him to complete his first of six bestselling books, taking him from financial insecurity to security and changing his life.
“You don’t know how things will change when you finally engage,” he explained. “If you don’t connect that in the morning you have fallen into selfie culture and not service culture. If you don’t like the word fight then love for somebody.”
Get Your Mind Back
He advised getting out of our comparison culture that thrives on judgment. High-performers make the most of their time, they don’t waste it.
“You don’t have to give up your Netflix or social media but know the cost. Most of what I do is for my purpose. I’m not wasting my time by blindly consuming.”
Honor the Struggle
“When life is difficult, how do I show up?” he asked. “The answer to that question is your wealth. You have to make self-improvement a way of life. Honor the fact that life is hard.”
When high-performers are struggling, they double down on the fundamentals, he explained. The goal is to get your edge back.
Jump All In
“Sometimes through your fear you don’t hear, and then you stop learning,” he said. And high-performers? They never stop learning and they are always all in.
Burchard’s drive and persistence have catapulted him to the forefront of the motivational industry. His goal is to equip real estate agents with the capability to thrive in the industry and to experience phenomenal results. He has trained and certified more than 1,000 of the world’s top performance coaches in 30 countries. His books also reached #1 on Amazon, The Wall Street Journal, and USA Today.
