Building on the proven success of eXp Realty’s mentorship experience, Bryon Ellington, Chief Learning Officer, introduced eXp Mentors to the “Mentor Playbook Pilot” at eXpcon in Miami. Mentors who register to participate in the pilot will provide valuable feedback for the collaborative teams of the eXp Mentor Program and eXp University, as they make final preparations to launch the new playbook at the top of next year.
As the next generation of eXp’s mentorship experience, the Mentor Playbook integrates accountability, personalized strategies and actionable insights to help Mentees build a highly successful real estate business in just one year.
Kelton Coverdale, Sr. Director, Agent Programs at eXp, kicked off the session by celebrating eXp Mentors and crediting their contributions for bringing eXp’s professional development program to the next level.
“The enhancements we’ve made to onboarding, the new Go curriculum and the FastCap results we’ve seen, are because of your feedback, and represent phase one of this journey,” noted Coverdale. “Phase two starts today.”
Components of phase two include engaging Mentors to support Mentees as FastCap’s six-week curriculum is introduced to the Mentor Playbook.
“Agents need to focus on the operational systems of their business,” said Candice Garcia, Sr. Director at eXp University. “We’re going to set their intentions, address their fears and concerns, and show them that they have the time as well as the resources in FastCap, to make it all come together.”
A Roadmap for Success
With over two decades of experience in the real estate industry, Ellington has been instrumental in shaping educational programs that align with eXp’s mission of empowering agents through innovative, agent-centric support systems.
He emphasized that the new playbook offers more than just mentorship; it provides a weekly framework for mentors to leverage, and a structured path for mentees to follow, in order to succeed in the long-term.
“Building the right habits in real estate is our treadmill,” said Ellington, “but we have to guide mentees on a path of self-discovery to help them overcome negative thoughts and move to a place of action. It’s all about consistency, skill and scale. If you can do those three things, you’ll have a very successful business for yourself.”
Areas for development such as prospecting, lead generation, marketing, and working with buyers and sellers, are broken down in the playbook for Mentors to ensure that their guidance is both comprehensive and personalized.
With accountability as a driving force of eXp’s mentorship experience, Mentee progress is tracked with Sisu, a business intelligence platform designed to provide real-time insights, tracking of sales activities, customizable dashboards, and goal-setting tools to drive mentee results.
Feedback and Continuous Improvement
Among the playbook’s building blocks is eXp’s commitment to refinement. Feedback from mentors and mentees throughout the pilot program is strongly encouraged in order to ensure that the curriculum evolves with the needs of all participants. Once the program is completed, phase three will begin with the launch of the Mentor Playbook early next year.
